Blogging is suffering as life interferes. After we got back on line, discovering the problem to be a faulty router that still flashed lights and looked to be working just fine, today turned out to be required for a trip to a specialist in San Jose who could evaluate Carol’s blood tests.
This effectively ate up the entire day...it’s pushing midnight now and we haven’t been home long. Downtown San Jose is 3 hours away by car under the best of conditions, longer when things go wrong. Our direct-route road was lost to a landslide so we have to take the only alternative...and it’s horrible, a major, major job. Rental cars here are all stick-shift and you are shifting constantly...constantly. The roads are narrow, dark, unstriped and black with unmarked edges. The trip back took almost 4 hours and it was no fun at all after dark.
I’m bleeding off adrenaline with my wine, hoping to get to sleep soon. The world may be too much with us but it hasn’t been for me lately.
